Day 3(DS)!

Hello welcome to my third post! This post is going to be about two things, the new 3DS and the differences between it and the other Nintendo DS models, as well as the awesome computer game, Minecraft!

First of all, I would love to talk about the 3DS. It has many things that separate it from a regular DS, a DS lite, a DSi and a DSi XL. Some of the differences may be negligible like the triggers being slightly more durable, but there are also many huge differences, for example:
  • The 3DS has an analog stick, and even though Sony used that idea first on the PSP, the DS seriously needed one because of the lack of precision in the D-Pad. This analog stick is also very smooth to use compared to the PSP analog stick.
  • The 3DS has a built-in game called AR Games, which stands for "A"ugmented "R"eality. This game uses cards to play, for example you place a card on a table, and look at it through the 3DS camera. It projects a holgraphic image only viewable through the Nintendo 3DS system. This game also comes with some minigames like fishing and archery.
  • The 3D feature, which admittedly is USELESS. It's fun for the first five minutes, but then it starts to hurt your eyes. It's also impossible to see properly if you're looking at the 3DS screen from anywhere except the direct front.
The 3Ds also has one last great addition, Miis!!! With the 3DS, you can also take a picture of someones face and it'll make a Mii that looks like them! You can also use them in various built-in games and some games that are sold separately. The 3DS is also able to use normal DS game cartridges, which answers one of the most common questions.

Overall, it's a great system, though being priced at 280+ Canadian dollars, you're gonna need to dig deep to buy it.

And now, I shall talk about: The one, the only, MINECRAFT!!!

Minecraft is a great game where you start off on an island then build your dream world, with various resources gathered throughout your journey. At first glance the graphics may appear terrible and childish at best, but once you start playing it's almost impossible to stop... It's just too much fun! At first the game may seem harmless enough, but you'll soon learn that under your very feet lays your demise... In other words, there are dungeons underground with monsters and lava. That seems like a decent introduction, doesn't it? Well, onto the actual subject!

I would like to explain why you should buy Minecraft, because for now its only 3/4 of the full price!
  • It's pretty much a sandbox games, but it also is partially a survival game. This means that you have to fend off various enemies and build shelter, but it also means that you are capable of creating anything you can imagine.
  • It has received great reviews from reviewers and the community alike.
  • It has many mods to add to the greatness that is this game, like flying mods, gun mods, and mods that make it more of a simulator.
  • It is a fun and creative way to pass time.
There are many more reasons, but I realize that the your time to read this blog is limited, so I'll make this conclusion short: I highly recommend buying Minecraft!!!
